Job summary
HII Newport News Shipbuilding seeks an Electrical Systems Engineer to support design, development and integration of electrical and combat systems for U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers.
The engineer will validate system and subsystem requirements, manage interfaces, and ensure compliance with technical and performance standards while working onsite in Newport News, VA. A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required with relevant experience; relocation assistance is available.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited engineering degree required (B.S. minimum).
- Experience with submarine or carrier electrical systems preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of electrical and combat systems.
- Establish system and subsystem design requirements from top-level specifications.
- Manage system interfaces and ensure integrated functionality.
- Develop and execute verification and validation procedures.
- Identify, design, and integrate components and subsystems to meet performance requirements.
- Lead or contribute to the creation of technical deliverables and reports.
- Coordinate with design, test, and construction teams.
- Support power generation and distribution system design and integration efforts.
