Job summary

Yaskawa America Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for the Medium Voltage Drives Development Team in Wisconsin.

This role focuses on developing MV drive products, specifying, designing, certifying, and documenting enhancements to support business growth. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred) with 7+ years of development engineering experience, plus knowledge of MV equipment, CAD tools, and certification processes.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering; MS preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 7 years of development engineering experience.
• Knowledge of medium voltage equipment and application principles.
• Experience with UL/TUV/CSA/CE certification processes.
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD and design simulation software.

Responsibilities

• Create technical specifications and develop value-added MV drives (enclosures, panels, power options).
• Perform conformance tests and documentation for MV products.
• Create schematics, BOMs, and technical documentation for product designs.
• Implement ECOs to resolve issues and improve product design.
• Coordinate agency approvals (UL, CSA, CE) for MV drives.
• Support transition of MV drives to manufacturing and marketing.
• Assist in competitive analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
• Provide technical direction and project planning for MV drive products.
