Job summary

NETSEA Technologies is seeking an Electrical Engineer to own MIL-STD connector design from concept through LRIP. The role demands hands-on fabrication oversight, collaboration with metalworking and injection molding teams, and interaction with field testing centers to ensure rugged, field-ready connectors.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and be eligible for a SECRET clearance, with experience in defense or government contracting environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Active SECRET security clearance strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience owning the design and fabrication of electrical connectors from concept through production release.
• Familiar with metal work and injection molding processes for connectors to enable manufacturability decisions.
• Experience with rapid prototyping or LRIP in defense, DoD, or government contracting settings.
• Comfort interpreting MIL-STD/MIL-DTL specs into buildable designs.
• Experience with armored steel plating or ruggedized cabling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, fabrication, and qualification of MIL-STD/MIL-DTL electrical connectors from concept through LRIP.
• Translate emerging tech requirements into physical, testable connector prototypes.
• Provide engineering solutions for custom fabrication needs, including armored steel plating and specialized cabling.
• Oversee and troubleshoot metalworking and injection molding processes for connector components.
• Collaborate with field organizations and testing centers to refine designs before full-rate production.
• Ensure components meet MIL-STD/MIL-DTL specs and environmental/electrical/mechanical tests.
• Support C3 upgrade programs by accelerating connector design and delivery timelines.
• Review and maintain technical drawings and design packages.
• Work cross-functionally with quality, production, program stakeholders and government representatives.
