Job summary

Strategy Engineering & Consulting, LLC, based in Houston, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer with 10+ years in electrical design and EPC environments for onshore and offshore oil and gas projects. You will perform design tasks for MV/LV distribution, perform ETAP studies, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires PE licensure, strong knowledge of codes (IEEE/NEC/NFPA/API/NEMA/OSHA), and excellent communication.

Qualifications

PE license is required.
10+ years of electrical design and engineering experience in mid-to-large EPC projects.
Arc flash and protective device coordination experience with SKM/ETAP or similar software preferred.
Renewable energy systems design experience, including solar and BESS, is highly preferred.
Proficient in developing electrical load lists, MV/LV one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
Experience with Electrical Buildings/Power Control Room, transformers, VFDs, Soft Starters, MV/LV switchgear & MCCs, UPS, batteries, etc.
Experience with specifications, data sheets, RFQ/Purchase, Tech Bid Evaluation, and vendor data review/approval.
High proficiency with common office software and PDF markup.
Strong knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API, NEMA, OSHA codes and standards.
Excellent written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

Independently perform electrical engineering design tasks for low and medium voltage power distribution systems, including grounding, lighting, area classification, cable routing, and BOMs.
Utilize ETAP to perform load flow, short-circuit, motor starting, arc flash hazard analysis, protective device coordination, ground system analysis, and battery energy storage system studies.
Perform design checks and mentor other electrical engineers.
Develop and support cost estimates, equipment budgets, and engineering deliverables for renewable energy, power generation, midstream, and downstream facilities.
