Job summary

Hai Robotics is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing to design and implement electrical systems for warehouse automation. You will develop schematics, BOMs, and wiring diagrams, and create robust PLC programs to support integration, testing, and commissioning across manufacturing lifecycle.

Collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Product, and Engineering teams, you will ensure manufacturability, safety, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years electrical engineering experience in manufacturing/automation.
  • Strong ability to read/interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems.

Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer – Manufacturing to support the electrical design, manufacturing, integration, testing, and continuous improvement of our warehouse automation and robotic systems. This role is responsible for electrical system design, component selection, PLC programming, technical documentation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and engineering support throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

The Electrical Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure robotic systems are designed for manufacturability, assembled correctly, and meet established safety, quality, reliability, and performance requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Electrical System Design & Development
  • Design electrical systems and wiring for robot bodies, peripheral equipment, and related automation systems.
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical layout drawings, and other engineering documentation.
  • Select and specify electrical components, cables, connectors, sensors, controllers, power supplies, motors, and other electrical equipment based on technical and product requirements.
  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and related industrial control systems.
  • Support the installation, integration, commissioning, testing, and acceptance of electrical equipment and robotic systems.
  • Provide on-site engineering support for customer installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system acceptance as needed.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, wiring, sensor, controller, motor, power supply, communication, and system integration issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis of electrical failures and product non-conformities and develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review production issues and determine appropriate electrical engineering solutions and design changes.
  • Create, maintain, and archive electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications, drawings, and other technical documentation.
Technical Assessments & Engineering Support
  • Support pre-project technical assessments, requirements gathering, data collection, and feasibility evaluations.
  • Provide electrical engineering recommendations and technical guidance to upstream and downstream teams.
New Product Introduction (NPI) & Product Development
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, pilot production, engineering changes, and product validation.
  • Follow products through mass production and provide engineering guidance to production teams during electrical installation, assembly, testing, and commissioning.
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization
  • Identify and implement improvements to electrical designs and manufacturing processes to improve quality, reliability, manufacturability, efficiency, and First Pass Yield (FPY).
  • Develop and improve electrical assembly procedures, SOPs, work instructions, testing processes, and engineering standards.
Training & Knowledge Transfer
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production technicians, electricians, and other manufacturing personnel.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Product, Supply Chain, and other Engineering teams to resolve technical issues and support product improvements.
Compliance, Quality & Safety
  • Ensure electrical designs, installations, and manufacturing processes comply with applicable safety, quality, and engineering requirements.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline required.
Required Experience
  • 2+ years of electrical engineering experience in manufacturing, robotics, industrial automation, material handling, or a related environment preferred.
  • Strong ability to design, read, and interpret electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical layouts, and technical drawings.
  • Experience with electrical CAD/design software and development of electrical engineering documentation.
  • Knowledge of electrical component selection, including sensors, controllers, motors, power supplies, cables, connectors, and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and industrial control systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with electrical system integration, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring, cabling, cable termination, crimping, soldering, and wire harness fabrication.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, engineering change processes, and manufacturing process improvement.
  • Experience developing and maintaining electrical BOMs and other engineering documentation.
  • Experience with robotics, AGVs, AMRs, ACRs, warehouse automation, or industrial automation equipment strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting NPI, prototype builds, pilot production, and mass‑production environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and collaborate with cross‑functional and global teams.

  • Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites as required.
