Job summary

RRC is seeking an Electrical Engineer IV - Substation to lead design and review of substation projects across the U.S. and Canada.

You will develop layouts, grounding, conductor sizing, and equipment ratings while coordinating across engineering, design and project management teams. The role requires strong knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NESC, ANSI standards, experience mentoring junior staff and interfacing with clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Engineering, or related field; PE preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in power delivery (transmission and distribution) for utilities, renewables or industrial.
  • Experience leading substation design projects and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and review of deliverables: layout, grounding, bus configurations, schedules, and general arrangement drawings.
  • Perform calculations: grounding, cable sizing, voltage drop, fault current, equipment ratings.
  • Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients to resolve issues and present solutions.
