Job summary

RRC is seeking an Electrical Engineer II - BESS to contribute to Battery Energy Storage System design at our Austin/Round Rock, Texas office. The role involves DC and MV distribution design, switchgear, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will perform system studies (ampacity, load flow, short circuit) and review drawings to ensure QA/QC. Collaboration with clients and project teams is essential to deliver compliant, high-quality engineering deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Renewable Engineering required.
  • Master’s degree preferred; EIT with PE planned in future.
  • 3+ years in BESS, renewable energy, MV power systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design Battery Energy Storage Systems, DC and MV with switchgear and distribution.
  • Perform system studies: ampacity, load flow, short circuit, losses.
  • Prepare and monitor design progress, coordinate with project team.
  • Review drawings, inspect deliverables for QA/QC compliance.
  • Engage with clients to interpret needs and provide technical support.
