Job summary

RTX is seeking 2027 Summer Interns in McKinney, TX for on-site opportunities to contribute to target detection, tracking and signal processing within the Electrical Engineering group. Interns will work on FPGA development, circuit design, testing hardware, and lab automation under mentorship to gain hands-on industry experience.

At Raytheon, the Electrical Engineering Function is responsible for the design, test, manufacture, and support of advanced electrical subsystems (target detection, target tracking, guidance, navigation, signal processing, and communication) to be utilized in extreme battle-field environments. The Multi-Function Products Department, a part of the Electrical Engineering Function, is currently searching for 2027 Summer Interns.

What You Will Do:

All interns will work within a larger team atRaytheon.Intern assignments will include one or more elements from the following:

• FPGA development in VHDL
• FPGA verification
• Designing circuits
• Testing electronic hardware
• Operating and automating test equipment in a lab environment
• Analyzing, modeling, and simulating electronic designs
• Component selection for electronic designs
• Layout and routing support of printed circuit boards

What You Will Learn:

Interns perform meaningful engineering tasks for their assigned projects but will also have access to a variety of career development opportunities. These include access to technical mentors and the ability to “shadow” experienced professionals to better learn about real industry positions.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical or relatedScience, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session
• Coursework in one or more of the following areas: digital circuit design, circuit analysis, VHDL or Verilog coding, power electronics, electromagnetics, linear controls, analog design, or control theory

Qualifications We Prefer

• 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
• Experience with test equipment, test automation scripting, test conduction, sensor control.
• Lab experience with hardware/software integration.
• Demonstrated experience with VHDL or Verilog coding, simulation, and synthesis.
• Knowledge of electrical circuit design, analysis and troubleshooting using common lab equipment.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
