Job summary

Holcim US is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 based in Portland, CO. This 10-week paid internship begins June 1, 2027, offering hands-on experience in cement production and collaboration with seasoned engineers.

You will assist in electrical design, installation, and maintenance, troubleshoot issues with motors and control systems, and participate in preventive maintenance and safety programs. Expect field exposure and executive presentations at the end.

Qualifications

• Currently an undergraduate in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Geographic flexibility to work at multiple sites.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, installation, and maintenance of plant electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues including motors and control systems.
• Participate in preventive maintenance for electrical systems.
• Work with automation and control panels (PLCs and SCADA) to monitor/ control processes.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring safety protocols.
• Apply a range of skills daily as part of the team.
• Present learnings and contributions to leadership at internship end.
