Electrical Inspector – Reading, site-based

£38.50 per hour (outside IR35) + site-based + average 45-55hr working week + travel time paid up to 5hrs per week @£38.50 + excellent overtime rates + opportunity to work weekends + overnight accommodation allowance + long-term contract work (min 12 months & rolling).

Electrical Engineer / Inspector responsibilities include:

1. Site-based, carrying out detailed Electrical Safety checks & inspections and delivering inspection reports.
2. Risk assessment of fixed electrical installations.
3. Drawings, tracing, labelling, and schedules of electrical installations.
4. Emergency lighting inspection and test to BS 5266 standard.
5. Electrical load analysis; Public entertainment licensing testing.
6. Lightning protection systems inspection and testing.
7. Electrical safety assessments for plant and machinery.
8. Act as Advisor providing technical and legislative advice where necessary.

Electrical Engineer / Inspector profile:

• C&G Part 1, 2 & 3 electrical installation qualification OR HND / HNC.
• C&G 2391/2392 Inspection and Testing certificate and 17th/18th Edition regs required.
• COMPEX certs 01-04 desirable.
• Minimum 10 years relevant Electrical industry experience, ideally 5 of which have involved testing and inspecting electrical installations / ATEX inspections.
• Held / currently hold SC clearance or eligible for SC clearance (must have been residing & working in the UK for the last 5 years).
• Experience working in Nuclear, Waste-Energy, Renewables, Oil & Gas, Aviation, etc.
• Current UK driving license.
• Proven technical knowledge and understanding.
• Excellent customer service manner, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
