Job summary

Dennis Group designs and builds food and beverage production facilities with a focus on building electrical systems, lighting, fire protection, and low voltage. The Building Electrical Group handles electrical design, power loads, equipment sizing, and vendor selection for industrial projects.

The role includes creating power plans, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules; ensuring NEC/NFPA/IBC compliance; coordinating with trades and managing bid documents and procurement for long-lead items.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4-7 years of work experience in electrical systems for building power.
• 4-7 years of work experience in designing lighting, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems for building spaces, including lighting calculations.
• 4-7 years of work experience in electrical bid documents and procuring electrical materials and equipment.
• 4-7 years of experience with AutoCAD, Revit or related design programs.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for building power, including 208v, 480v, and MV for industrial facilities.
• Document calculations such as short circuit, arc flash, generator sizing, load calculations.
• Create power plans, one-lines, and panel schedules.
• Review scope with client and produce bid documents and specs.
• Assist with electrical bid process and startup activities.
• Support department-wide standard development and best practices.
