Job summary

The Dennis Group's Building Electrical Group designs and builds food and beverage facilities, handling lighting, fire protection and low voltage systems for industrial projects. The professional will scope, perform, and deliver multiple concurrent assignments, focusing on power distribution, lighting calculations, NFPA 72/101, NEC compliance and coordination with other trades.

Responsibilities include preparing bid documents, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, selecting equipment, and procuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years of work experience in electrical systems for building power.
• 4–7 years of work experience in designing lighting, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems for building spaces, including lighting calculations, and coordinating fixture placement with trades.
• 4–7 years of work experience in electrical bid documents and procuring electrical materials and equipment.
• 4–7 years of work experience in AutoCAD, Revit or other related design programs.
• Relevant work experience in a manufacturing or construction setting preferred.
• PE tracked desirable.
• Travel to customer project sites for fieldwork, review, audit, and meetings, estimated 25%.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for building power distribution (208v, 480v, MV) for industrial facilities.
• Document calculations such as short circuit, coordination, arc flash, generator sizing, voltage drops.
• Maintain project document organization and schedules.
• Review scope with client and manage needs list; support bid documents.
• Produce bid documents with layouts, one-line diagrams, risers, schedules, details, and specs.
• CAD – manage 2D/3D devices in Xrefs and coordinate with trades.
• Assist in electrical bid process for clients, observe construction, and assist with startup.
• Project planning and feasibility studies.
