Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Training in Overland Park, KS. You will support senior staff in execution, learning industry standards, and performing design work using Revit and CAD.

The role requires a ABET-accredited engineering degree and familiarity with industry software. You will participate in design coordination, calculations, and documentation development under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering from ABET accredited college.
• Knowledge of industry software Revit and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Learn industry standards and company policies during project execution.
• Observe design analyses using industry software and standards.
• Assist in producing designs with Revit and CAD under supervision.
• Support project design processes and analysis as needed.
• Perform basic computer-based engineering calculations.
• Assist coordinating designs with other disciplines for equipment needs.
• Observe how project managers develop man-hour budgets.
• Help develop technical docs, proposals, and presentations.
• Learn to communicate design requirements with contractors and reps.
• Accompany senior staff on job-site visits to check conditions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specs, schematics, and reports.
• Attend training and educational opportunities.
