Job summary

EDG Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to lead electrical design efforts for oil & gas projects in Metairie.

You will work on generation, distribution, protection and control systems, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards. The role requires collaboration with multiple disciplines, preparation of cost estimates, and support through procurement, construction, testing and commissioning.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Electronics engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience designing and implementing electrical power generation and distribution systems.
• P.E. license preferred.
• Experience leading multi-discipline project teams.
• Experience preparing project cost estimates.
• Experience preparing specifications for procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Knowledge of ANSI/NEMA/NFPA/API/UL/IEEE codes and IEC standards.
• Demonstrated offshore/field travel readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for power generation, distribution, protection and control systems for projects.
• Prepare and review power/control philosophies, drawings, and data sheets.
• Prepare, analyze and review electrical models and system calculations.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for integrated design and construction packages.
• Provide support for procurement, field engineering, testing and commissioning.
