Merrick & Company in San Antonio, TX, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead all phases of project design and BIM for large facilities, including government and private clients. You will interpret, organize, and coordinate design and production, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget alignment.

The role requires ABET-accredited electrical/architectural engineering degree, 8 years of experience, a P.E. license, and proficiency in REVIT/AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or architectural engineering (ABET accredited).
• Eight years of facility electrical engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• Proficient in REVIT and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA, and IEEE codes.
• Experience with electrical calculation tools (AGi32, Elum Tools, SKM, ETAP, EasyPower).
• Able to travel; self-starting, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for facilities including Government, and private clients.
• Provide conceptual / detailed design for facility power distribution (<=600V), site power distribution (<=15kV), emergency power generation, grounding and lightning protection, lighting design, telecommunications, fire alarm / mass notification, security, access control, and special systems.
• Provide supporting documentation such as calculations, reports, and specifications.
• Meet with clients to prepare and/or validate proposed scope of work.
• Prepare fee proposals for engineering design work.
• Work with other engineering disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, meet schedule, and budget commitments and meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
• Write and edit specifications
• Work in a design team environment, including directing and mentoring the work of junior engineers and designers, and delegating work as required as well as provide management of the local team.
