Amtec Staffing is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to support our Redford, MI plant and equipment projects. The role focuses on electrical systems, energy efficiency improvements, and managing varied engineering initiatives.

You will work with a range of equipment and systems, including power distribution, HVAC, life safety, and security, while coordinating internal trades and outside contractors. Strong CAD skills and industrial experience are required.

Qualifikationen

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; 5+ years Plant/Facility Engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; strong communication skills.
• Ability to interpret prints and drawings; work in an industrial setting.

Aufgaben

• Estimate, plan, coordinate design, and manage installation of facility projects.
• Specify equipment and systems to support plant infrastructure and facility processes.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems related to plant infrastructure and facility processes.
• Support plant infrastructure and facility process equipment including HVAC, electrical distribution, standby generator & UPS, fiber optic & Ethernet, Life Safety, security, and lighting.
• Plan and coordinate work with in-house tradesmen, supervisors, and outside contractors.
• Provide and implement designs for electrical infrastructure equipment and systems.
• Apply knowledge of NFPA 70E for electrical safety and NEC standards.
• Participate in teams and cross-functional groups; handle multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Engage in project management and plant engineering functions.

Title: Electrical Engineer III - Plant and Equipment

Location: Redford, MI

Pay: $60.00-$66.00 hourly

Position Summary:

Perform engineering duties related to electrical systems for the plant facility, office, & operations areas. Improve the energy efficiency of operating infrastructure & manufacturing equipment to reduce the overall energy costs. Manage and coordinate small and large engineering projects.

Job Functions:

• Estimate, plan, coordinate design, and manage installation of facility projects.
• Specify equipment and systems to support plant infrastructure and facility processes.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems related to the plant infrastructure and facility processes.
• Support plant infrastructure and facility process equipment which includes, but is not limited to: compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, electrical distribution systems (15kV, 4.8kV, 480V, 120V), standby generator & UPS systems, fiber optic & Ethernet communication systems, Life Safety systems (smoke & fire detection, annunciation & notification, fire suppression), security systems (card access, camera, gate control), and lighting.
• Plan & coordinate work with skilled in-house tradesman & supervisors, as well as outside contractors & service technicians.
• Provide and implement designs for electrical infrastructure equipment and systems.
• Working knowledge & practical use of National Electric Code (NFPA) & NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
• Participate in teams and cross-functional groups.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
• Project management and plant engineering functions.

Required:

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (or equivalent), and at least five years Plant Engineering or Facility Engineering experience.
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), AutoCAD.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
• High level of analytical ability to solve complex problems.
• Ability to interpret prints and drawings.
• Understanding of building, infrastructure, and utility functions.
• Ability to work in an industrial work environment

Preferred:

• Familiarity with Machining, Assembly, Test, & Final manufacturing processes.
• Experience working in a unionized labor environment.
• Familiarity with Maximo, SAP, and Outlook.
