Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with switchgear, MCCs, circuit breakers, power distribution equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical load flow calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit analysis.
  • Experience preparing complete engineering project documents within area of expertise.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Nuclear power industry experience.
  • Experience supporting nuclear plant projects.
  • Field engineering experience in power generation environments.
  • Electrical system modeling and analysis experience using ETAP and SKM Power Tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and design efforts for power plant modifications and new construction projects.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Working under the guidance of senior engineering staff, this role provides technical support throughout the engineering lifecycle, including evaluations, calculations, design development, and project execution. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess existing plant systems, develop engineering solutions, and contribute to projects that improve plant safety, reliability, efficiency, and performance.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to further develop technical expertise while supporting critical infrastructure projects within the power generation industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering Design & Analysis
  • Support engineering and design efforts for power plant modifications and new construction projects.
  • Apply established engineering methods, standards, procedures, and design practices.
  • Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and evaluations.
  • Assist with development of design modifications and technical solutions.
  • Prepare engineering documentation and project deliverables.
  • Support design reviews and technical evaluations.
Electrical System Engineering
  • Evaluate and support electrical power distribution systems, including:
    • Switchgear
    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • Circuit breakers
    • Associated electrical equipment
  • Perform or support:
    • Load flow studies
    • Voltage drop calculations
    • Short-circuit calculations
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve system reliability and performance.
Project Support
  • Support multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
  • Coordinate with project teams, clients, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in project planning, meetings, and technical discussions.
  • Help ensure projects are completed according to schedule and quality standards.
Field Support
  • Participate in plant walkdowns and field investigations.
  • Verify equipment configurations and existing conditions.
  • Support construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities as required.
  • Travel to client sites for project support and field assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with:

    • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
    • Circuit breakers
    • Power distribution equipment
  • Knowledge of:

  • Climb ladders and navigate elevated work areas.
  • Access security-controlled locations.
  • Enter confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas when required.
  • Travel periodically to client locations and project sites.
  • Work overtime as needed to support project and outage schedules.
