Job summary

GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY in Arden Hills, MN, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of MCC burn-in power delivery systems, from concept to testing and production hand-off. You will design schematics, select control hardware, and ensure safety compliance for customer-specific power delivery solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in industrial system design and power control.
• Hands on experience with industrial power systems.
• Knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards (NFPA 79, NFPA 70, IEC 60204, SEMI S22, UL508).
• Thorough understanding of modern electronic systems and component materials.
• Capacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments.
• Experience designing and developing electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience with international low voltage <600VAC> power systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full product lifecycle of the power delivery system from conceptualization to prototype development and final design.
• Produce system schematics, panel layouts, wire lists, BOMs and procedures for operations.
• Select and specify machine control hardware including PLCs and related modules.
• Customize power delivery systems to meet customer requirements and direct conversations with customers.
• Be the technical expert for electrical machine safety standards and interconnection.
• Create design verifications and manufacturing tests for components and systems.
• Troubleshoot with Production and Purchasing to resolve design or component issues.
• Collaborate with Sales and Field Service to support customer issues and ECOs.
• Work with cross-functional teams to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Communicate engineering information across teams to support large projects.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and review schematic work.
• Lead initial and ongoing design reviews.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This position reports to the Machine Design Engineering Manager and is responsible for leading the full product lifecycle of MCC burn-in systems by customizing power delivery systems to meet customer expectations, producing schematics, selecting machine control hardware, creating design verifications and troubleshooting with Production and Purchasing to resolve issues. This position will act as the subject matter expert on industrial system power design, system safety regulation conformance, and facility interconnection requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for helping lead the full product lifecycle of the power delivery system, including conceptualization, development of prototypes, testing, and finalizing designs.
• Produces system schematics, panel layouts, wire lists, bill of materials and procedures to support operations.
• Select and specify machine control hardware, including programmable logic controllers and all related modules and interconnected I/O devices.
• Customizes power delivery systems to meet customer expectations. Leads conversations with customers directly to clarify power requirements.
• Technical expert for electrical machine safety standards and industrial power interconnection.
• Creates design verifications and manufacturing tests to confirm the functionality of electrical components and systems.
• Troubleshoots with Production and Purchasing to solve unforeseen problems with product design, implementation and product components.
• Partners with Sales and Field Service to support customer issues and develop necessary Engineering and Field Change Orders.
• Works with cross functional team to determine root cause of errors and develop a corrective action plan.
• Communicates engineering information across teams and departments to facilitate successful completion of large-scale projects.
• Provides technical support to junior team members and reviews project schematic work, as necessary.
• Lead s i nitial and ongoing design reviews.
• Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4 + years of experience in industrial system design and power control.
• Hands on experience with industrial power systems.
• Knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards (one or more of: NFPA 79, NFPA 70, IEC 60204, SEMI S22, UL508)
