Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks an Electrical Engineer II to design, develop, and integrate test products within the Test Equipment Directorate. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
  • Active U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret) required prior to start; U.S. citizenship.
  • Experience in electrical engineering, including troubleshooting, analysis, and test.
  • Proficiency with electrical design and analysis tools such as Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, and Creo Schematic.
  • Experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters.
  • Ability to use schematic capture tools and interpret schematics.

Job description

Electrical Engineer II – Test Equipment Directorate, RTX (formerly Raytheon), Tucson, AZ.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and integrate test products within the Test Equipment Directorate, collaborating in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Develop both engineering and production test systems, including interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematic design, circuit design, and analysis.
  • Contribute to all stages of test product development, managing technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to the development and implementation of test products, acting independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Typically a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
    • Active U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret) required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required.
    • Experience in electrical engineering, including troubleshooting, analysis, and test.
    • Proficiency with electrical engineering design and analysis tools such as Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, and Creo Schematic.
    • Experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters.
    • Ability to use schematic capture tools and interpret schematics.
  • Preferred:
    • Master’s degree in STEM; ABET accreditation preferred.
    • Technical leadership experience in multidisciplinary teams.
    • Experience with analog, digital, RF, mixed‑signal design, and system interconnects.
    • Experience using integrated development environments and debugging tools for software troubleshooting.
    • Self‑starter with strong workload management and meeting deadlines.
    • Proficient technical writing and formal presentation skills.
    • Project management, bid and proposal experience.
    • Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware optimization techniques.
    • Experience with programming language development and implementation.
    • Understanding of RTX projects, programs, or systems to enhance daily work.
    • Root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.

  • Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD (USD).
