Job summary

PRIME AE Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our Columbus, Akron offices. You will support the design and development of electrical systems across healthcare, education, commercial, and municipal markets, coordinating with architects, engineers, and field personnel to deliver high-quality projects from concept through construction.

You will work under senior engineers, advancing ownership of design tasks, analyses, and construction documentation, with opportunities to grow

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
7+ years in electrical system design.
PE license preferred.
Experience with power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
Credentials such as RCDD, LEED, or WELL are a plus.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, and ACC.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design of electrical systems for various building types and sectors.
Develop layouts and construction documentation from concept through final design.
Coordinate with field staff, architects, contractors, and engineers to ensure design intent during construction.
Perform electrical calculations and analyses to support system design.
Prepare construction drawings and technical reports.
Collaborate with mechanical, structural, civil, and architectural teams.
Provide guidance to junior staff as appropriate.
