Job summary
Prime Electric is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems, prepare construction documents, and obtain permits for building projects. The role collaborates with architects, MEPs and field teams to ensure project success.
You will perform power/lighting design, voltage drop calculations, and coordinate with multiple trades while adhering to NEC codes and Prime Electric standards. On-site collaboration and safety practices are essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and 2–4 years of electrical systems design experience.
- Engineering in Training (EIT or FE) license.
- Experience with NEC and building codes.
- Knowledge of power and lighting design.
- Understanding of sustainable design and LEED documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems and construction documents.
- Produce permits and construction drawings.
- Coordinate with architects, MEPs and field teams.
- Perform voltage drop, load, and demand calculations.
- Attend project design team meetings and review drawings for clashes.
- Ensure compliance with Prime Electric standards and safety policies.
