Job summary

Software Placement Group in Wausau, WI is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to document and standardize heating and refrigeration electrical systems while driving new product development. You will collaborate with mechanical engineers and support from concept to production.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5–7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting, hands-on design, testing, and participation in regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years designing electrical systems for products.
• Experience through full product development lifecycle.
• Manufacturing environment experience with production support.
• Electrical testing, troubleshooting, validation, and failure analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems for commercial heating and/or refrigeration equipment.
• Document electrical systems and standardize designs into defined models; develop new products.
• Support product development lifecycle from concept through validation and production release.
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and docs using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to integrate electrical and mechanical systems.
• Lead product validation, testing, reliability testing, and root cause analysis.
• Work with Manufacturing to troubleshoot production issues and improve processes.
• Engage with Supply Chain to evaluate components and support cost reductions.
• Ensure compliance with UL/NSF/CSA/ETL/DOE standards.
• Provide cross-functional technical support; travel as required.
