Job summary

Top Echelon LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to document and standardize heating and refrigeration products from an electrical perspective and contribute to new product development. You will report to the Engineering Manager in a growing division of a larger organization.

You will design electrical systems, create schematics and BOMs using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM, and collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to deliver robust, manufacturable products while ensuring safety and regulatory

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
5-7 years of experience designing electrical systems for products (not production equipment).
Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, validation and failure analysis.
Experience with regulatory certification agencies and safety standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems for commercial equipment that heats and/or refrigerates, including heating circuits, temperature controls, wiring harnesses, sensors, and power distribution components.
Document electrical systems and standardize custom products into models; design new products.
Support full development lifecycle from concept/prototype through validation and production release.
Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and engineering docs using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM.
Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to integrate electrical and mechanical designs.
Lead and support product validation, performance testing, reliability testing, and root cause analysis.
Work with Manufacturing to troubleshoot production issues and improve manufacturability and quality.
Partner with Supply Chain and suppliers to evaluate components and support cost reductions.
Ensure compliance with UL, NSF, CSA, ETL, and DOE standards.
Provide technical support to Quality, Tech Service, Sales, and cross-functional teams.
Travel occasionally to suppliers, manufacturing partners, customers, or industry events.
