Job summary

Accelera is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to support central-energy and utility initiatives in a on-site role across Cincinnati, OH; Lexington, KY; Minnetonka, MN; and St. Paul, MN.

The position focuses on power distribution, generation, infrastructure, and system reliability, with full lifecycle ownership from design through startup. The role requires hands-on design experience, ability to work with multiple departments, and adherence to electrical standards and codes.

Qualifications

• Autonomous execution of power-system assessments and full project lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Create designs for 480V and medium-voltage electrical distribution and generation networks.
• Utilize SKM PowerTools to conduct essential power-system assessments, such as harmonics, load-flow, arc-flash, short-circuit, and protective-device coordination studies.
• Produce technical documentation, including electrical specifications, calculations, schematics, and one-line or three-line diagrams.
• Engineer comprehensive systems for lightning protection, grounding, power-factor correction, MCC, DC power, UPS, and generators.
• Work with architectural, construction, instrumentation, controls, process, and mechanical teams to ensure project success.
• Evaluate technical submittals and assist in review of equipment specifications.
• Provide engineering guidance during construction, troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning phases.
• Coordinate proposals, schedules, cost estimates, and client communications.
• Ensure designs comply with electrical standards and codes.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of commercial electrical engineering principles.
• Show technical expertise in medium-voltage systems.
