Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Engineer II/III to serve as the site subject matter expert for electrical and controls systems. You will monitor performance, interface with external vendors, and lead onsite testing and troubleshooting to resolve issues effectively.

The role requires strong engineering fundamentals, collaboration with multiple departments, and a commitment to regulatory compliance and reliability improvements across plant equipment.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • ABET-accredited BS in engineering; MS considered in lieu of BS.
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience; for Engineer III, 4+ years.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as site SME for electrical/controls systems.
  • Monitor and trend system/component performance.
  • Interface with external vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Direct onsite testing and troubleshooting for emergent issues.
  • Coordinate with Design Eng, Transmission, Maintenance & Operations on concerns.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained.
  • Evaluate fleet operating experience and industry learnings to improve reliability.

Skills

Understanding of basic engineering理论
Strong written and verbal comms

Education

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ABET accredited)
Master's degree in Engineering considered in lieu of BS
