Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Engineer II/III to support electrical and controls systems at a site in Indiana. The role involves being the on-site SME, monitoring system performance, and coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have an ABET-accredited engineering degree with 2+ years (Engineer II) or 4+ years (Engineer III) of related experience. Some relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. engineering degree.
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience for Engineer II.
  • Minimum 4 years related work experience for Engineer III.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the site subject matter expert for electrical/controls systems.
  • Monitor and trend system/component performance.
  • Interface with external vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Direct onsite testing and troubleshooting for emergent issues.
  • Coordinate with Design Engineering, Transmission, Maintenance & Operations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained.
  • Evaluate fleet operating experience and industry learnings to improve equipment reliability.
  • Maintain configuration of DCS/SCADA/PLC systems for safe, reliable operation.
  • Develop scope and tests for engineering design changes (AC/DC power, motors, transformers, etc.).
  • Manage external control system vendor support as SPOC.

Education

ABET-accredited B.S. in Engineering
Master's degree in Engineering considered in lieu of B.S.
