Metra, America’s fourth busiest commuter rail system, seeks an Electrical Engineer II to prepare design packages for power and lighting systems and supervise construction and external consultants. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5 years of relevant experience, and 3 years of indirect supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities include cost estimates, schedules, grant funding preparations, and coordination across engineering departments.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5 years experience in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in power, lighting, and control design.
• 3 years indirect supervisory experience including task assignment, guidance, training, performance monitoring, budgeting, hiring, or termination.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare electrical design packages (drawings, specs, calculations) for power and lighting systems.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of contractors and advise design projects by outside consultants.
• Provide project cost estimates and cost studies to determine design cost effectiveness.
• Develop project and construction schedules.
• Prepare scope of work and grant funding forms to secure adequate funding for capital projects.
• Operate a company cell phone; work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
