Job summary

Upwing Energy is developing first-of-their-kind Subsurface Compressor Systems for natural gas extraction. The Electrical Engineer II will own and optimize the electrical design of the surface equipment, including power electronics, and will support build, test, and validation of the systems that support the core compressor units.

Responsibilities include BOM/drawing maintenance, review against customer requirements, development of new products, and field support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years industrial experience; 2+ years in power electronics integration, motion control, turbomachinery or similar.
• Hands-on setup and troubleshooting of complex electrical systems.
• Familiarity with motor controls and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus).

Responsibilities

• Own the design, performance and durability of the main power delivery system (VFD, motor, cabling, transformer, supervisory control).
• Support ancillary equipment: remote data communication/storage, cooling cart, controls container, HVAC, HCC.
• Maintain BOM and electrical drawing packages for SCC, HCC, and compressor components.
• Review existing systems against customer requirements and validate with test data.
• Lead development efforts for new products or improvements; support field installations.
• Train and support production and field teams on electrical assemblies and connection processes.
• Develop and document test setups and procedures; document configurations and user guides.
