Zusammenfassung

Interstates is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to lead constructable, detailed designs on multiple projects from our Iowa headquarters and job sites nationwide. You will drive design efforts, coordinate with disciplines, vendors, and construction teams, and serve as lead designer on small to medium projects.

You will perform conceptual and detailed design work, participate in site visits, and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliance with NEC standards and industry practices.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or closely related field from a four-year ABET-accredited program is required.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and practical experience that demonstrates the required competencies.
• Graduates must be eligible to complete the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or have achieved EIT (Engineer in Training) certification prior to graduation.
• Strong knowledge of electrical terminology and components, electrical symbols, and the NEC.
• Proficiency in drafting software is preferred for success in this position.

• Develops detailed designs independently by leveraging industry knowledge, company and external standards, and lessons from previous projects to enhance deliverables.
• Executes designs across various delivery methods, including design-build, plan and specification, and design-assist projects.
• Facilitates information sharing with design disciplines, field contacts, clients, vendors, utilities, and governing agencies to ensure alignment and clarity.
• Conducts site trips effectively by planning, working with onsite teams, and processing information after returning.
• Delegates work to other team members by clearly outlining the purpose and process of the deliverable.
• Contributes to estimates and conceptual design phases by providing technical insights and design recommendations.
