Job summary

Interstates seeks an Electrical Engineer II to lead constructable, detailed design on a range of projects. You will perform site trips, coordinate with electrical engineers, other disciplines, vendors, and construction teams, and drive the conceptual design on small to mid-size projects as the lead designer.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, 2–4 years of relevant experience, FE exam eligibility or EIT certification, and proficiency with drafting software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• FE Exam eligibility or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical terminology and NEC.
• Proficiency with drafting software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops detailed designs independently across project types.
• Executes designs for design-build, plan & spec, and design-assist projects.
• Facilitates information sharing among design disciplines, field contacts, clients, and vendors.
• Conducts site trips planning and post-trip information processing.
• Delegates work clearly and guides team members on deliverables.
• Contributes to estimates and conceptual design with technical input.
