Job summary

ASTEC is seeking an electrical design engineer to develop control systems, schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs for industrial asphalt equipment. The role requires strong design and troubleshooting skills, cross-functional collaboration, and travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in mechanical or electrical engineering (or related field) and has at least two years of engineering experience, with excellent communication and project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training/experience.
• At least two years of engineering experience.
• Strong electrical design and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Willingness to travel ~25% domestically and internationally; US passport and TWIC credential required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems, schematics, panel layouts, and bills of material for industrial asphalt and related equipment, while maintaining accurate engineering documentation.
• Collaborate across teams from product concept through production, support manufacturing and service, and address design-related root causes and corrective actions.
