Job summary

Astec's Controls Engineering team seeks a motivated Electrical Engineer to design and develop electrical control panels for heavy off-road equipment. You will create schematics in EPLAN, prepare build-ready documentation, and contribute to robust, repeatable designs from day one.

You will collaborate with Controls, Mechanical, and Manufacturing teams, specify components, manage BOMs, and ensure compliance with UL/NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in electrical discipline.
• Strong ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Experience with or exposure to control panels and industrial equipment is a plus.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control panels and schematics for 24VDC and 120VAC industrial use.
• Develop panel layouts and build-ready documentation with BOM.
• Select components (breakers, relays, PLCs, terminal blocks) to meet design needs.
• Collaborate with Controls, Mechanical, and Manufacturing teams on reproducible designs.
• Support during production by addressing design inquiries and field issues.
