Job summary

Astec is seeking a Controls Software Engineer to join a world-class electrical and software engineering team in Eugene, Oregon. You will develop control/automation software for heavy construction equipment such as road pavers and crushers, using CodeSys, C/C++, and Ladder Logic.

The role involves defining software requirements, performing design reviews, coding, and testing across embedded PLCs and HMI displays, with cross-functional collaboration and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in design and development of industrial/mobile equipment control software.
• Proficient with embedded systems development tools and software.

Responsibilities

• Develop control/automation software for heavy construction equipment.
• Decompose product requirements into software requirements and design.
• Perform unit and integration testing of PLC/HMI systems.
• Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to implement control algorithms.
• Travel as needed for project testing and customer engagement.
