Job summary

Thorlabs in Londonderry, NH seeks an engineer to design and develop electronics for advanced image scanning and laser marking systems. You will work across hardware, firmware, and simulation with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver integrated instruments.

The role requires 4+ years in electronics design, a Master’s degree, and strong experience with analog/digital design, FPGA development, PCB layout in Altium, and embedded software. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience with electronics design for scientific, industrial, biotech, medical, or semiconductor instrumentation.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout of multilayer boards.
• Knowledge of Verilog, VHDL, C/C++, Python.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronics for precision scientific instruments and peripherals.
• Develop firmware to control optical, mechanical and electrical components.
• Take a design from concept through prototyping, debugging and manufacturing.
• Manage project timeline and costs; coordinate vendors and contract manufacturers.
• Troubleshoot electronics issues and maintain documentation.
• Develop circuits and systems to meet R&D and manufacturing needs.
