Thorlabs is seeking an Electrical/Embedded Engineer II to design and develop electronics for precision scientific imaging and microscope systems. You will bridge hardware and firmware, owning designs from concept through production release while supporting cross-functional teams worldwide.

The role emphasizes low-noise analog and mixed-signal circuits, embedded C/C++, and robust, manufacturable products in a lean environment. Strong collaboration with vendors and customers is expected.

Qualifications

• Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for precision instrumentation.
• Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers and processors.
• Own electrical designs from concept to production release and sustaining engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronics for scientific imaging and microscopy systems.
• Develop embedded firmware and hardware abstraction layers.
• Integrate subsystems into complete imaging systems and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Prepare engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, and test plans.
