Job summary

Pcgrecruit in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking an Electrical Engineer II or III with strong NEC knowledge and power systems experience. The role involves interpreting drawings, specifications, and developing electrical designs; some travel to off-site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience with equipment selection and project management.
• Familiarity with NEC and power systems.
• Ability to read and develop drawings, plans, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Select and specify electrical equipment, including MCCs, VFDs, motors, transformers, and switchgear.
• Conduct technical evaluations of equipment options considering performance, cost, quality, and project requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other engineers to design electrical systems meeting specifications.
• Prepare detailed equipment specifications, data sheets, and purchase requisitions.
• Review supplier proposals, drawings, and docs for compliance with standards.
• Participate in FAT and provide support during installation, commissioning, and startup.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements.
• Perform electrical calculations: load analysis, short-circuit, voltage drop, motor starting studies.
• Develop and review drawings and schematics using AutoCAD.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
