Job summary

LVI Associates in Tampa, FL is seeking an Electrical Engineer II with 5+ years of experience to join our growing team. The role focuses on design, coordination, and client interaction for commercial, aviation, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, and government projects.

The candidate will develop lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems, coordinate BIM/Revit designs, and mentor junior staff while supporting project delivery in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical design experience in consulting engineering.
• Experience with commercial building projects (aviation, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, government).
• PE or EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, emergency generation, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
• Develop efficient system layouts and perform sizing calculations; ensure code compliance.
• Create and coordinate BIM/Revit-based designs across project phases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout design and construction.
• Perform construction administration duties: site visits, submittal reviews, punch lists.
• Define and manage project scope to align with contracts and client expectations.
• Maintain communication with clients, architects, contractors, and code officials.
• Mentor junior designers.
