Job summary

RTX is seeking an Onsite engineer in Cedar Rapids to support aerospace product development across the complete lifecycle, from design and development to production transition and service support.

The role requires a STEM background with 2+ years of relevant experience, plus hands-on lab work and strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, and systems. Proven ability to manage project plans, schedules, and budgets is essential.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Experience with hardware/software/systems integration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and integrated system interactions.
  • Hands-on lab experience working with complex engineering and test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support products at all phases of the product lifecycle (design & development, transition to production, factory support, service support).
  • Execution of complex microprocessor and FPGA based circuit board design including schematic capture, part selection, and simulation.
  • Implement designs that are optimized for a balance of cost, manufacturability and testability.
  • Implement designs that are in strict compliance to DO-160 and DO-254 standards.
  • Prepare and present project technical information to peers and internal/external customers.
  • Leads the development of project plans, schedules and budgets.
  • Tracks progress, identifies and resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations.
  • Monitors costs and re-estimates project costs on a monthly basis to maximize project predictable performance.

What You Will Do

Salary

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
