Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is seeking an innovative and highly driven Electrical Engineer to join our Computing Products Hardware team. You will support products through all lifecycle phases, from design and development to production and service support.

The role emphasizes complex microprocessor and FPGA based circuit design, cost-aware manufacturability, and strict DO-160/DO-254 compliance, with opportunities to present technical information to customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

We are looking for an innovative and highly driven Electrical Engineer to join our Computing Products Hardware team within the Computing Products team

What You Will Do:

  • Support products at all phases of the product lifecycle (design & development, transition to production, factory support, service support)
  • Execution of complex microprocessor and FPGA based circuit board design including schematic capture, part selection, and simulation
  • Implement designs that are optimized for a balance of cost, manufacturability and testability
  • Implement designs that are in strict compliance to DO-160 and DO-254 standards
  • Prepare and present project technical information to peers and internal/external customers
  • Leads the development of project plans, schedules and budgets
  • Tracks progress, identifies and resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations
  • Monitors costs and re-estimates project costs on a monthly basis to maximize project predictable performance

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Experience with hardware/software/systems integration

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
