Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Electrical Engineer (I - V) located at Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. Position closes June 15, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Central Time or until filled.
Provide technical expertise for BOP (Balance of Plant) system evaluation, performance trending, system health reporting, troubleshooting, and overall safe and reliable operation of assigned systems.
This position may be assigned to the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), requiring response to the station during emergencies. The ability to arrive at the station within 45 minutes of notification is a condition of employment.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited).
Knowledge of PC applications.
Entry into the Nuclear Engineering Support Program (ESP).
None required.
Maintain expert knowledge of assigned system, its status, and its Design and Licensing Bases.
Verify the preservation of Design Bases through surveillance tests, field work, and modifications.
Monitor and trend system performance, investigate declines, and improve reliability.
Perform routine walkdowns and prioritize maintenance and modifications.
Develop long-term plans and secure funding for system improvements.
Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to ensure system reliability.
Review maintenance effectiveness and provide input for improvements.
Assist operations with Operability Evaluations and review investigations for corrective actions.
Support licensing responses and notifications to USNRC.
Other duties as assigned.
