Job summary

Southern States LLC seeks an Electrical Engineer I to act as a primary conduit between Electrical design, Mobile Design and Engineering, and Production. This role ensures wiring layouts, drawings, and test plans align with project goals from pre-production through post-production.

You will collaborate across teams to optimize layouts, verify tests, and update AutoCAD Electrical drawings as changes are made, supporting safe and efficient deployment of mobile electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of design experience in the electric power industry.
• Fundamental understanding of power systems and substation design.
• Ability to create and edit AutoCAD Electrical Drawings.
• Knowledge and experience with electrical relays, protection, and control.

Responsibilities

• Lead in coordinating with Electrical design, Mobile design and Production teams.
• Ensure latest revisions of electrical drawings are used and obsolete designs are not followed.
• Lead in capturing and revising changes to electrical drawings when deviations are approved.
• Assist in communicating proposed changes to customers and evaluating feedback.
• Design efficient layouts for routing conduits and junction boxes before installation.
• Update AutoCAD drawings to reflect as-built mobiles.
• Perform point-to-point wiring tests to verify integrity of electrical layouts.
