Job summary

Southern States LLC is seeking an Application Engineer I to develop drawing packages for high-voltage switchgear and power switching devices. You will collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver precise drawings and practical solutions while maintaining customer satisfaction.

You will create 2D/3D drawings in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, perform static analyses, calculations, and GD&T, participate in design reviews, and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or A.A.S. in CAD with four years applied experience.
• SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency; MS Office Suite experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural calculations.
• Statics and mechanics proficiency.
• Attention to detail and accuracy; good communication.
• Ability to collaborate across teams; travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 2D and 3D engineering drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Conduct static analysis to ensure the integrity and safety of product designs.
• Perform mechanical, structural, and electrical calculations to support product design and development.
• Utilize GD&T principles to ensure accurate manufacturing and assembly of components.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical support to address customer inquiries and issues.
• Participate in design reviews, providing input and suggestions for product improvement.
