Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electrical Engineer 1 to develop hardware for Flatsat simulation systems, interfacing with avionics, software and test teams in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

You will design racks and interfaces, define requirements, select hardware for SV component data simulation, and contribute to the full hardware-in-the-loop lifecycle from concept through testing and integration at the Dulles Flatsat team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Proficient in understanding schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Familiar with high-speed serial interface protocols (TCP/IP, SPACEWIRE, LVDS, RS422/485, 1553).
• Familiar with electrical and/or mechanical design tools (Zuken, Visio, CREO).
• Can operate electronic lab equipment (DMMs and O-Scopes) for debug and troubleshooting.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Rack, panel, and cable design, electrical interconnects and schematics.
• Develop certification procedures, and hardware checkout/troubleshooting.
• Root cause determination, problem resolution and documentation.
• Interface with subsystem design engineers, flight software and systems engineers.
• Design cycle of hardware-in-the-loop systems from conception to fabrication and integration.
