Job summary

Rosendin seeks an Engineer I in California to learn and develop competency in engineering design and analysis under supervision. You will support electrical design for PV, DG, BESS, and MV systems, coordinating across disciplines and with suppliers.

Your duties include assisting with feeder schedules, drawings, and submittals, and visiting job sites for field surveys while growing under senior engineers’ guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Currently pursuing Engineering in Training (EIT) with NCEES.
• Combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee or collaborate with Designers assigned to your work or team.
• Review, comment, and process equipment and system submittals.
• Coordinate with civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, operations, and electrical trades.
• Prepare designs, check, and specify power, lighting, and auxiliary systems for PV, DG, BESS, or MV systems.
• Develop power single-line diagrams and model short circuits and coordination studies.
• Assist with feeder schedules and energy modeling under supervision.
• Coordinate your work with project specifications or equipment manufacturers.
• Visit job sites to field survey existing electrical conditions under supervision.
• Become familiar with engineering analysis programs to analyze loads, lighting levels, and short circuit currents.
• Participate in project team meetings and interface with various team members.
• Work closely with the engineering supervisor to understand design criteria and budgetary issues.
• Assist with drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
• Assist with review of plans, specs, contract documents, and estimates.
• Assist senior engineers with field observations and design updates during construction.
