Job summary

Madison Gas and Electric is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Gas and Electric Service and New Development Engineering to join a diverse team in the office and field, delivering solutions for customers connecting to Wisconsin's energy grids.

Based at our Madison, WI headquarters in a hybrid role with substantial in-office presence, you will review DER interconnections, design distribution, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet timelines and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical or related engineering field required.
• Some electric design or civil engineering experience preferred.
• Interest in Professional Engineer licensure in Wisconsin preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review systems to interconnect large-scale DERs into the distribution grid.
• Provide technical expertise for interconnection projects per standards and best practices.
• Perform engineering and design for overhead, underground, and network for new development.
• Ensure regulatory interconnection standards are met for timelines and communications.
• Collaborate with team engineers and stakeholders through the interconnection process.
• Coordinate with other departments and outside entities on project planning and scheduling.
• Review plans for installation of electric service gear.
