Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. in Phoenix is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to help design energy-efficient building solutions and support project teams from early concepts through construction.

You will be mentored by experienced engineers, perform load calculations and equipment sizing, and advance to lead roles as you gain project experience. A strong GPA and internship in MEP consulting are valued, with EIT a plus.

Qualifications

• BSEE/BSAE from ABET-accredited school in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Non-academic internship.
• Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities preferred.
• EIT certification (FE) a plus.
• Internship in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform load calculations, determine system sizing and layouts, calculate equipment sizes, select equipment, complete field surveys, and review equipment shop drawings.
• With experience, lead electrical project teams, write specifications, participate in project meetings with clients and other consultants, and support construction-phase work.

In this role, you will initially work with and be mentored by experienced engineers and will yourself help to mentor designers. Your initial assignments will include performing load calculations, determining system sizing and layouts, calculating equipment sizes, selecting equipment, completing field surveys, and reviewing equipment shop drawings. As you gain project experience, you will take on a greater role in leading electrical project teams, writing specifications, participating in project meetings with clients and other consultants, and supporting construction-phase work.

Expertise of our most successful Electrical Engineer I:

• BSEE/BSAE from ABET accredited school in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Non-academic internship.
• Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities/student organizations preferred.
• EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
• Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.
