Job summary

Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. is seeking an Operations Electrical Engineer for its New York operations. This on-site role will be based in Watertown or Fulton, NY, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Operations.

You will plan, organize and direct electrical engineering activities to update and optimize hydropower facilities across New York State. The role requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of experience, familiarity with NEC/NESC/NFPA 70E, and willingness to travel within

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; PE license optional but preferred.
7+ years progressive electrical engineering experience.
Knowledge of NEC, NESC and NFPA 70E standards.
Willingness to travel within New York State.
Strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize and direct engineering activities for hydropower facilities.
Manage design, cost, construction and commissioning of electrical projects up to 115 kV.
Prepare tender documents and ensure design adequacy and code compliance.
Assist with regulatory compliance including NERC/NPCC.
Provide electrical safety training and oversee lockout/tagout and arc flash practices.
Support reliability improvements and troubleshoot equipment failures.
Coordinate with utilities and oversee field inspections and contractor work.
