Job summary

Brookfield Renewable N.A. in New York invites an experienced Operations Electrical Engineer to join the Watertown or Fulton team. The role will plan, organize, and direct engineering activities to update and optimize hydro facilities throughout New York State.

The candidate will manage capital projects up to 115 kV, prepare tender documents, ensure NERC/NPCC compliance, and provide electrical safety training. A BS in Electrical Engineering and 7 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• PE license not required but desirable.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in electrical engineering.
• Willingness to travel within New York State.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct engineering activities to update and optimize hydro facilities across New York State.
• Manage design, specification, cost, construction, and commissioning of capital projects up to 115 kV.
• Prepare tender documents and review bid packages for design adequacy and code compliance.
• Assist operations and compliance staff to ensure NERC and NPCC regulatory compliance.
• Provide electrical safety training and act as SME for lockout/tagout and arc flash analysis.
