Job summary

Brookfield is seeking an Operations Electrical Engineer to plan and direct engineering activities for hydropower facilities across New York State. You will lead design, construction, commissioning, and safety programs for projects up to 115kV, coordinating with utilities and regulatory bodies.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of experience, familiarity with NFPA 70E, and strong project-management skills. Occasional travel within New York is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum seven years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
• Familiar with electrical codes and NFPA 70E standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct engineering activities for hydroelectric facilities in NY.
• Manage design, cost, construction, and commissioning of projects up to 115kV.
• Prepare tender documents and ensure code compliance and constructability.
• Provide safety training and act as SME for lockout/tagout and arc flash analysis.
• Support operations to improve reliability and troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Coordinate internal/external resources and liaise with interconnecting utilities.
• Inspect field work for contract compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor budgets, cost control, and forecasting for projects.
