Job summary

Brookfield Asset Management Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to plan, organize, and direct engineering activities for hydro facilities across New York State.

The role focuses on designing, cost control, construction, and commissioning of capital projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will bring a BS in mechanical or civil engineering, 5+ years in project engineering, and strong construction management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years' progressive project engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques and project management.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct engineering activities to optimize hydro facilities; manage design, specification, cost, construction and commissioning of capital improvement projects.
• Prepare tendering and bid package reviews for design adequacy and constructability.
• Assist in capital and maintenance budget preparation and prioritize budgeted work.
• Provide engineering support to operations to improve reliability and performance.
• Coordinate internal and external engineering resources and ensure contract drawings comply with specs and codes.
• Conduct field inspections to verify work complies with drawings, specs and regulatory requirements.
• Lead pre-bid and preconstruction meetings with contractors; propose corrective actions when needed.
